Introduction

I think I should introduce myself. I am your mother. My name is Jackie. I was born on September 28th, 1979 at 12:29am, at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond. My parents are Richard and Katherine Hatch, who you will come to know as Nana and Pa Hatch. Your dad, Michael Bryant Sawyer, who we will talk about later, is working on a family tree for you and your sister, Ruby.

Being born on Sept 28th, I am a Libra, which you might be.. if you're born a little late. Libras are passionate and will do anything to keep balance and avoid conflict. We are also procrastinators, impulsive, and very indecisive. BUT... what would the world be without us? We are the artists, the creators, the actors and storytellers. As my child, you will be painted and photographed until you are quite the ham.. but I hope to nurture in you a world of imagination and creativity, resourcefulness and wit, as well as charm.

I have one brother, your Uncle Cliff. He is in the Air Force and is married to your Aunt Candy. You will love them! They are wonderful. Every time we go to their house, they have a new pet. Once it was a duck. Last time, it was a pig!

We live in Chester, Virginia, where your daddy grew up as a child.

I am a nurse, and I work part time, 3 days a week as a telephone triage/advice nurse. I give advice and reassurance to women when they call to ask questions and get medications.

Our pet dog, Spiegel is a Bernese Mountain Dog called an Entlebucher. He has adjusted to Ruby beautifully and although your arrival will mean more adjustments for him, he is already excited about all the snacks you'll give him when you get bigger!

Your dad and I met on Belle Island in Richmond in 2003, and we got married on October 29th, 2005. In 2007, your sister, Ruby Marie Sawyer was born. Right now, she is 19 months old, and although we have told her you are coming, she doesn't really understand yet.

I get my first chance to see you in 2 weeks when we have our first ultrasound. I am so excited!!

What else would you like to know about me? I have brown hair and hazel eyes. My favorite food is Baked Ziti, which is a kind of pasta. My favorite song is Blackbird, by the Beatles. I read a lot of history books, love Sudoku puzzles, and laugh really loud at "The Family Guy" on tv.
