My Charlie Brown
Dear Charlotte,
You have become a climber!! You struggle to get up onto a surface- into a chair, onto the couch, only to sit for literally one second, and then slide off, feet first and try to repeat the whole procedure. When you can't get up to where you want to be, you cry for help. Often times your foot gets stuck.
You seem to regard the baby the same way that you regard the cat. You will point to him and say "dee dee!" and then pet his head, then carry on with your activities.
You are so cute when you dance!!!! You lift one foot up and throw it down, or bob up and down with yoru little arms tucked into your belly. You like anything with a beat. It is nice to see you dance- it's something you do with Ruby. You are defeinatly uninterested completely in any kind of tv. Occasionally, Mickey Mouse or Elmo will catch your attention for a few minutes, but in general you are constabtly on the go, and tv does not hold your inerest at all. You much prefer any excuse to wear your fireman hat. This is your favoriet accessory for the last few days,. and you are rarely seen without it. We tease you, asking you " Did someone call 911?!" and you just smile.
The weather has been beautiful lately so we've been spending a lot of time outside, which you adore. You are so funny- everything is new, so even walking from the hair salon to the car took about 10 minutes. You stopped to inspect the hair on the floor. You had to carefully navigate the threshold of the door. Once outside, a big pot of flowers captivated you and begged to be touched. Later yesterday, we splashed in puddles to your delight, which was something both you and Ruby really enjoyed.
You are often so tired at dinner time that you refuse to eat anything, you only drink your milk, so we start our nighttime routine early in the evening, generally at about 615 and you are usually in bed by 7. It is hard to read you books sometimes because you don't like to sit still, but I still read to you with gusto and show you the oages to try to lure your interests so you listen. You would much rather investigate how the chair works or take down all the diapers from the table or try to wiggle the door handle one more time. You are sneaky and mechanical, a dangerous combination when it comes to doors, gates, or any kind of safety device meant to keep you safe.
You are so smart! all of us have a "Charlotte" story of something amazing that you did unexpectedly. For grandma this week, she said she was looking for a paci for baby henry when you seemed to know what she was looking for and brought her a box to show her, then opened it for her and inside was his paci!
